Sous Chef - Events
The Role
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of a high-volume, events-driven kitchen. You will be responsible for maintaining consistency, quality, and execution across a diverse range of events while leading and developing a large kitchen brigade.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations
- Lead, supervise, and mentor chefs across multiple sections
- Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
- Assist with menu planning and development tailored to events and seasonal produce
- Oversee preparation and service for large-scale and premium events
- Assist with ordering, stock control, and minimising waste
- Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards at all times
- Step in to manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
About You
You are a confident leader with a strong background in events, banqueting, or high-volume kitchens and a passion for delivering high-quality food at scale.You Will Bring
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a highly capable Senior CDP ready to step up
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- A collaborative, team-first approach with high attention to detail
- Relevant trade qualifications and up-to-date food safety knowledge
