Theatre Bars Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Bar Supervisor to join our dynamic team at the Sydney Opera House, overseeing bar operations across multiple venues. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-volume bar environments, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for customer engagement. If you thrive in a fast-paced, professional hospitality setting and are up to date with local trends, we want to hear from you! This role requires mainly evening and weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Bar Management team in day-to-day bar operations, ensuring smooth service during pre-show, matinee, and post-show times.
- Oversee and lead a large team, ensuring efficient queue management, exceptional speed of service, and a high standard of guest experience.
- Ensure stock control, ordering, and staffing levels meet operational needs.
- Deliver ongoing staff training to enhance performance and ensure adherence to service standards.
- Provide prompt and professional resolution to customer concerns, maintaining a positive atmosphere for both guests and staff.
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a high-volume bar environment, with a focus on fast-paced service.
- Proficient in POS systems, cash handling, stock control, and basic administrative duties.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a large team and bar operations.
- Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with both guests and staff.
- Knowledge of premium alcoholic products, wines, spirits, and cocktail preparation are a bonus.
- Immaculate grooming standards and a strong professional presence.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage patrons and team members effectively.
- A current RSA Competency Card is required.
This is a casual position with the potential to transition into a full-time role.
