Position Summary
Trippas White Group are looking for our next hospitality star that is seeking to take the next step in their career. We are seeking a Theatre Bars Supervisor based at the prestigious Sydney Opera House with a can-do attitude. Our supervisor will be working closely with management to ensure a seamless experience for our patrons.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in food and beverage operations within high-volume beverage venues or a busy restaurant setting, you will be leading a team of up to 15 staff on any given date working a rotating roster.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee the setup, operation, and pack-down of multiple bars & dining spaces during show periods.
- Lead by example on the floor, supervising teams and ensuring a smooth service flow.
- Coordinate with management and events teams to deliver seamless pre-show, interval, and post-show service.
- Manage staffing and section allocations across multiple venues based on show requirements.
- Ensure prompt opening and closing of bars in accordance with show call times.
Team Supervision
- Maintaining a visible and active presence.
- Coach, support, and develop bar staff to achieve performance, and service standards.
- Support training and onboarding of new team members.
- Handle on-shift resourcing adjustments as needed (breaks, rotations).
Guest Experience
- Uphold and deliver exceptional guest service experience reflective of Trippas White Group standards.
- Respond professionally and promptly to guest feedback or service recovery situations.
- Ensure product knowledge and service etiquette is consistent across the team.
Management & Compliance
- Assume operational responsibility for theatre bars and associated guest areas.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings, compliance checks, and incident reporting as per company standards.
- Maintain RSA compliance.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
- Operational knowledge of bar service, cash handling, and POS systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage service in a time-sensitive, high-pressure environment.
- Barista experience is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Confidence making decisions independently while knowing when to escalate.
- Exceptional grooming, personal presentation, and a professional demeanour.
