Distinctive venues at the Gallery are exceptional and versatile settings for gala dinners, cocktail parties, conferencing and workshops, and private functions. Venues include the very grand Gandel Hall, the magic and mystical Sculpture Garden Pavilion - a permanent outdoor marquee nestled in the gardens - as well as the newly-refurbished James Fairfax Theatre and the Gallery Dining Room.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Chef de Partie who is looking for Full Time employment opportunities. Join and be part of an opening team at one of Australia's most beautiful home to the arts.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Day-to-day kitchen operations in a fast-paced, high-quality venue
• Work closely with the Venue Manager to deliver service excellence
• Support menu development and seasonal specials
• Maintain food safety, ordering, stock control, and cost management
About You
• Strong operational understanding of high-volume service
• Passionate about seafood, coastal flavours, and modern casual dining
• Team-focused, solutions-driven, and calm under pressure
• Solid knowledge of food safety and allergens
• Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
• Ability to work across a 7 day roster; hours vary due to event operations
• Previous experience in a large catering or corporate hospitality environment is an advantage
• Previous experience working in a flexible, multi-skilled team environment is an advantage
• Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
• Able to be a team player, with a positive and can do attitude
• Must hold a valid national police check which is no older than 4 weeks
